Gentlemen,

After three years of bachelorhood, old Jesse Custer has found his Tulip. BUT, we have run into a conflict.

SHE WON'T LET ME PUT MY ACTION FIGURES ON DISPLAY IN THE LIVING ROOM.

Instead, she wants them somewhere in a bedroom or man cave. This could be a dealbreaking issue here. (Not really)

Any advice from the Ssalefish community on how to get the old lady to come around?

I like my living room to be free of knick knacks and collectables of all sorts. It's better to have that stuff in it's own room where you can do as you please with them.

this is tough- I get a way with more than most because my collectable clutter can be labeled "work related".

My safest advice would be to put them in a nice display case- remember presenation is very important.

in our living room, I am allowed my Swamp Thing statue and Astro Boy statue. I also have my axis of evil action figures under our tv on the fireplace mantle. After my lady was LUCKY ENOUGH TO LAND ME, she quickly banished anime girlie figues to either boxes or ebay (sniff sniff) and often hides my Angry Youth figures with framed pictures of . . . herself.

Also, find, exploit and pinpoint HER weakness. Hell, if you have to have a snowglobe shelf that's a small price to pay for a Marvel Legends shelf equal in length!

Maybe I'll post some photos later . . . if my wife allows!

Best wishes to you both, Jesse!

I'm a husband AND a father and I'm quite comfortable keeping my toys and trophies in and around my mancave. I've found that otherwise things get broken, moved, hidden, tossed or somehow teleported away if I'm not diligent. If I were to have some on display in the main house parts, I agree with Bret that presentation is key. A nice and tasteful display would be tough to argue against.

Thanks for the advice, guys.

I pitched the nice tasteful display and was kindly refused. But, I'm not going out without a fight. AND since she is a track coach with close to forty pairs of shoes, I think I have an angle here.

I AM seeing the value in HalBumble's idea about the mancave, though.
